News not coming from forums?

I would like my news to NOT come from forum threads. Somehow would like it setup to where it shows part of an article then you can click on "Full Story" and it takes you to the full article created via a php file instead of the actual forums.

Not sure if I am explaining this right but hopefully someone gets the idea.
