wider module (design question)

Hi People
How can I have a module wider than the center modules and have left and right modules under it (like the nave bar module)?
I tried playing with div section of templates but I messed up everything.

Any help is much appreciated

Do you mean basically just a module that goes across the top and coveres the width of the whole page?
