Wanting to re-design look of newsbits

I'm wanting to give my news blocks a bit of a different look. I'd like to pull the headline off the top bar and down into the block itself much like the title of a thread appears inside the post.

Is there any tutorials floating around or has anyone messed with that?

You can change the news any way you would like by editing the 'adv_portal_newsbits' template.

As someone with little experience with doing that, is there some available module designs others have created and shared?
