ummm, I know this site is more active than vbulletin.com so i thought i'd give it a try here. can someone check out my site? the front page says it was hacked. I know I paid someone on here to add it a few months back, but I dont think it has anything to do with it. I dont have the money to pay someone to fix it, but if any help would be great..! its not the forum, its the front page. this is what a member wrote..

Hello Ladies,

I sent a message to the g-mail and Kim about this. I understand Kim is no longer here, but I think that this is something that you need to know. Kim told me that someone else told her this was happening on her FB. She didn't tell me who it was, though. I figured out that I can get on using /forum/ but I am getting a hacked message when I try to get on using www.the-silent-rank.com.

Here is the issue:

When I try to get on I get: "This "website" has been hacked." It had the word "Islam" and "From: Turkey". Elyon...!!!" The address bar also changes to "Elyon...!!!" There is also a picture of a hooded figure and the devil on it. There were some words I couldn't read, and I think they are in Turkish.

When I run my Spyware Software after trying to log-in, it says that I have an ISTBar. I looked it up and got this:

"ISTBar (MSUpdates\MSCache; SearchBarCash; TinyBar; ISTBar/AUpdat; and variants, including ISTBar/MSCache and ISTBar/XXXToolbar) is a browser hijacker that reconfigures the start page, toolbars, and search page in IE. It also delivers pop-up ads and, in some variants, will present porn in the form of pop-up windows on your Desktop. ISTBar has been known to carry other spyware into your system, as well." http://www.pctoday.com/editorial/art...id=25535&guid=

I am concerned about this and thought that you would want to let the other members know, perhaps in a PM if the site is really being hacked. Also, it is probably a good idea to let v-bullentin know. It's very creepy, and this being a military related site might be the reason for it.

Sorry, not trying to sound paranoid, but since it happened on two different computers, with two different ip addresses and networks (not counting whoever reported it to Kim on FB) I think that it's worth you all looking into. Also, I am having no other problems using the internet.

Ally

1) Contact your host immedialtely for assistance

2) Vbulletin.com is the place to post and get help for your forum, the best policy if you have a valid license is to use the ticket system at vBulletin.com

If that were the case you could just shut off the CMPS and then upload new files to your server.

As it is I can see no forum, this is your first ever thread here at vBa, you could be anyone. The correct course of action is to get help from your host and/or ask vBulletin.com via their ticket system.

If they've replaced your homepage like that then it was your server that was hacked, not the CMPS. As Carey suggested, you'll need to contact your host for assistance with figuring out how it was done and to secure your server.
