I'm going to upgrade my vba, but am not upgrading my vb because it's CRAZY expensive.
Are all the vba's compatible with 3.7.2 or am I limited?
Please advise.

Hey thanks for not helping me today/yesterday. I just ****ed my **** up because you didnt help and you have wrong info on your own frickin products.
requirements
vbulletin 3.6.0 or higher.
Php 4.0.6 or higher.
Mysql 3.23 or higher is recommended.
Version info
current version: 4.0.1
released: 06-29-2010
that's for the 4.0.1 cmps and of course i find that out AFTER i installed it. oh, and how about this...putting this at the VERY END OF THE INSTRUCTIONS?!?!?!
If you have not already, ensure that you are running vBulletin 4.0+.
THIS SHOULD BE AT THE VERY FRICKIN BEGINNING!!!
Thanks a lot! It's not compatible with 3.7.2.

I'm sorry if you expected a reply between 11:30 PM and 1:30 AM, but very few people in the world work those hours.
When you downloaded the CMPS (or any other vBa product), it shows the vBulletin version(s) that each version of the CMPS will work with to the right. And the note about ensuring that you're running vB4 is the first thing mentioned in the upgrade instructions. Sorry if you messed something up, but that could have been avoided by reading and paying attention to the version numbers.

Brian is the man, and you just burned a major bridge if you ever need his help. I don't care how old this thread is, you're a moron for talking to him like that.
Just my opinion.

Rolla,
Brian, in the entire time I've known him, is almost always a lot calmer dealing with some people than I am. You'd be surprised at the number of people who rant in one thread only to be seeking help in the next.
If the OP posts again in the future then help will still be provided.

In the Features section of the readme file that comes with the download it says: "Tested and stable with vBulletin 3.6.0+", while in the Upgrading section it says: "ensure that you are running vBulletin 4.0+". Can I upgrade to CMPS 4 without upgrading to vB 4?
I'm now running CMPS v3.2.1 and vB 3.8.6. Can either be upgraded first or can upgrading one break the other?
I'd like to begin upgrading my site to 4 but I'm really nervous about breaking something. My site is working great right now.
Thanks for any advice.

CMPS 4 can only be used with vBulletin v4 when you go to the download section the drop down menu lists the appropriate versions for your forum.
To upgrade you need to switch off your CMPS, upgrade your forum to v4 then upgrade the CMPS to v4.0.1
