Hello, I have added some custom user ranks and rank icons. They all appear fine in the User Rank Manager, but they do not appear at all in threads as there 'forum' is missing in the path. For some reason after the vbadvanced hack it looks for the image to be at http://www.indianasportsman.com/images/ranks/deer.gif for example and the 'forum' is missing in the path.

HELP.

You'll need to update those images to include the full URL, or add $vboptions[bburl]/ in front of the path in the code.

When I update the images to include the full path I get an invalid path error from vbulletin. Does this mean we cannot add custom smilies when using vbadvanced? Where would this extra bit of code go?

I have the same problem with custom post icons on my main vbadvanced screen. The the news "Test Deer" on http://www.indianasportsman.com

Well I fixed the problem with my custom post icons, but the rank icons are another matter. They will not accept a full URL as a path name and I'm not quite sure where to hack the code as you suggest.

I really need a solution to fix the rank icons at http://www.indianasportsman.com/forum/ This is the last outstanding issue needed to be solved before launch.

Sorry, I just realized which images you're talking about. You have to have the path incorrect or something as there's no way the CMPS would affect these. If you're having a problem with them you'll need to ask at vbulletin.com as it's something to do with vBulletin, not our program.

Hmmm, I'm not sure it's a vb problem. Looks more like a vbadvanced problem as the path is missing the "forum" part of the path. Do you know of a vbadvanced site where the ranks work?

How would it be a vBa problem when the ranks are in your postbit template, and vBa does not touch that template or anything to do with the ranks?

The user rank images show up properly when setting them up in the admin of vbulletin. They do not show up properly in posts due to "forum" being missing from the path. If I'm not mistaken, vbadvanced turns all relative image paths into absolute paths and this is where I suspect the problem might be.

Again is there a vbadvanced site with custom user rank images working that I can look at?

There is no path setting for your rank images. It simply uses the URL that you've entered to determine the path.

I'm sure there is, but I can't give you one off the top of my head. If you search the forums you'll also notice that out of a few thousand users, nobody has ever posted about a problem with the ranks.

This has all the hallmarks of some sort of vbadvanced interaction. It was the same thing with the smilies paths until I went into vb and made them absolute paths. The problem is, vb does not allow you to make rank image paths absolute, it flags it as an error if you try this.

I don't know how I can make this any clearer... It has nothing to do with vBa though. vBa DOES NOT touch anything to do with the user ranks. If it did, out of the thousands of members on here, someone else would have made a post about it by now. If they're not showing up it's because you have the URL entered for them incorrectly.

Dont mean to anger you but the icons do show up fine in the rank icon manager, they just don't show up correctly in the posts. Is anybody else out there using custom images for ranks along with vbadvanced? Brian can you try a custom rank image with your installation here to see if it works?

Works fine here.

Hmmm, I just don't know where the issue is then. What is the full path that you see for your rank images?

I have had Jelsoft look at this and they have said that my setup looks fine. The rank images should appear fine.

Brian would you be willing to take a look at my setup if I gave you an admin account and password?

I would as well.. I am no expert, generally mess up most of the stuff I try and it worked the first time of me. :D

Image paths maybe? Do your other images show up ok?

Thanks for the quick fix on that one Brian. That was quite strange. They showed up fine in the rank manager.
