Hi all. I just started setting up my site portal page with vBA. It was installed professionally earlier this week. You can reach the page at:
http://www.ncangler.com/cmps_index.php
Several of the icons are not showing up correctly. Any ideas?
Also, how do you know what number to input in the CMPS module in order to get announcements or specific forums to show up in the News? Sorry...I"m getting my feet wet!

Hi,
Unfortunatly, whoever installed it for you appears to have missed a couple of steps in the install. Take a look at http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1345 which explains the probleml. To fix it, you will need to update your image paths in the vBulletin AdminCP (instructions are in the readme file that comes with vBadvanced).
For your second question, if you go to your forums, and click on one of your forums (eg, Off Shore Fishing or NC Saltwater Fishing Reports), then look in your web browsers address bar. The address will read something like:
http://www.ncangler.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=3
The number at the end of that line is the one you need to put into the CMPS module. Each forum has a different number.
Thanks,
Alan.

Hi Allan. Thanks so much for the quick reply. Unfortunately I don't have the vBA install. I couldn't download it last week. I'm on a MAC, don't know if that was causing a problem or not. But I'll try to download it and make those changes.
Thanks for the note on how to determine the pages #. I knew it had to be something simple like that. :>
I guess if I just want a NEWS window with Announcements, would I create a "News" forum then link to it? Or is there a better way?

Hi Randy,
All you really need to fix the problem is the vBa readme file which I've uploaded for you (http://www.citconsultants.co.uk/alan/readme_vba_cmps.html)
The easiest way would be to just create a "News" forum or something simaler, then put that forum number in the CMPS module. Everything you post to that forum would then also get shown on the front page.
Thanks,
Alan.

I cannot download the vBA program files for some reason. Can they be accessed via ftp somewhere?
Thanks,
Randy

Sorry, but as far as I know, they can only be downloaded from the website. It's a method used to prevent non-vBulletin licence holders downloading them.
Submit a support ticket to the vBadvanced team, I'm sure they will be able to help.
Thanks,
Alan.

I've double checked and I think my problem is not the paths.
I also am using '2nd Latest Topics pulling from specifc board' hack.
Below is a working image. This is from the center column.
<img src="/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif" alt="" border="0" />
On the right column I get a broken image.
<img alt="" src="./forum//forum/images/icons/icon1.gif" border="0" title="" />
Any clues?

Thank you so much Alan for providing that file! I've saved it to disk for safekeeping. :>
