Is there a hack, and if not, is there someone who could design a hack that will basically show a forum on the front page?
If templated correctly, this could then look exactly like a blog!
any ideas?

not really. the link you gave me took me to the users manual and instructions. i'm familiar with hacking a bit, but i'm not sure how to create a brand new module that shows the threads of one forum.

It is possible if your forum is in the same directory.
I don't use cmps_index.php.

I followed the instructions but there is a problem with two scripts so I am forced not to have a left column when calling newthread and newreply. It worked with 3.0.4. :(

thanks for your help 1996, but i was actually wrong in my post. what i want to do is to display an actual thread in the home portal page. with a few template changes, that thread would actually look like a cool blog.
brian - please close this thread as i figured out something and am continuing it here: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?p=25063
i think that may be in the wrong section and should probably be moved to vbacmps Hack requests. oops, sorry.
