Would the Links Directory be toward file downloads? I give one of my usergroups FTP access for posting artwork, game files, patches and maps for others to download, and thought that this would tie it all together quite neatly.

If they're just going to need the ability to post the links after they have uploaded the files then it should work just fine.

Kewl, and as I understand it that permissions can be set or given to specific uers?

Specific usergroups. If you take a look at the admin demo then you'll be able to see exactly what permissions you can set per group.
