How do I add meta tags to the new vBa index.php page that vBa installs...do I just do it with a normal html text editor, or is it done from within vBa?

Thanks

Admin CP => vBulletin Options => General Settings

So even though the forums are in the /forum subdirectory and the vBandavanced index.php is in the root, I would still do it all through the vBulletin control panel?

Also, I have incredibly good placement on the search engines that I've obtained over the last 5 years. Does vBadvanced or the forums affect search engine placement in any way?

Thanks

The meta keywords/description you enter for vBulletin are used for the whole site, including vBa CMPS.

If I wanted to add more meta tags to vBa's index.php file than just the description meta tag and the keywords meta tag, where would I do that (since those are the only meta tags the vBulletein control panel will allow me to get to)?

What others would you like to add?

Just edit your 'adv_portal' template.

If I go to styles & templates---style manager--search in templates--search for text "adv_portal", I get search response showing that there is one template for each of the 4 skins I have installed. Do I have to go into each and every template for each skin just to add an additional meta tag that I want to appear on index.php? Is there any easier way, just one change for all skins...or maybe this ties into my custom text question where the adult template changes get inherited by the child skin templates does this apply to meta tags also?

Thanks much

If you do the parent/child thing I mentioned in the other thread, you should only have to change it one place.

AdminCP->Styles & Templates->Style Manager->On the main style, in the dropdown on the right, choose Edit Templates (near the top of the list), expand the vBAdvanced CMPS Templates group, and you should see it. (So that you don't have to search for it next time, that's how you go right to it.)
