Here goes,
I installed the VB CMPS successfully (I think) - at least it shows in the Admin control panel - no problem.
Here is my problem: none of the modules are showing on my homepage. I went in the VB CMPS control panel and assigned the proper forum IDs and still nothing happens. My home page acts as if nothing has changed.
Note: my homepage was created with Dreamweaver (if that matters).
Please help.

admincp / import & maint / rebuild forum information see if that helps.
And might we get a link?

lets get a link to your site so we can see what it looks like.
Are their posts in the threads you are pulling?

Actually I was with the 3rd Ranger Batt. Yes it was Airborne, but a little better. ;)
Did you run the install I assume?
is there a index.html & index.php in your root dir?

:)
Yes, I ran the install and CMPS is in fact showing in the control panel. No problem there.
Also, I have index.htm - and index.php (originally cmps_index.php). All in the root directory.
In my forum directory I also have an index.php that is different from the one in my root folder (of a different size).
Could that be the problem?
Thanks.

Am I the only one having this particular problem?
I searched the knowledge base and it seems I am the only one?? It seems that most everyone see "something" related to CMPS on the home page. Maybe I'm getting paranoid now. :)
Puzzled.

Try naming your index.htm something else like index_old.htm for now and see what happens.. :)
what you got for your chdir line? Line 21 of index.php
Parse error: parse error, unexpected '/' in c:\websites\blackgreekforum381\blackgreekforum.com\index.php on line 21
should be chdir('./forum');

Tried that but when I change the name, my home page won't show at all - has an error message.
I think I'll just forget about it - doesn't look like it is going to work for me. Looks like a nice feature pack when it works. Dang!
Thanks bud, I really appreciate your help.

do this
there is a way to make it work with the index.php file (portal) installed in the same dir as the forums.. Submit a trouble ticket to Brain, he can get it to work

Yes indeed, I am familiar with Brian - he is very good. Actually I just sent him an email. Is there a specific procedure for trouble tickets?
Thanks

I am having trouble getting it to work as well I got it up on Admin. c/panel but it did nothing to templates board.
This next part I do not quite get it as well.
I place it in root directory but a no go . I change from cmps_index.php to index.php and edited to what I thought was the correct path but a no show.
I have to styles/skins and I hope that has nothing to do with it
In your cmps_index.php file:
Now open your cmps_index.php file in this folder and find:
chdir('./forum');
Replace this with the full path to your forum on your server.
Not sure what this means?
My ticket was answered but I need to know what is the correct path I only know when it is simply clear enough , is it ./domian.com/forums/index.php [aka.cmp_index.php] and I place the renamed cmp_index in forum or outside of forums or with the renamed index_old.php
Forums--v
index.php [aka.cmp_index.php]
index_old.php [aka.index.php]
or
Forums
index.php [aka.cmp_index.php]
index_old.php [aka.index.php]

this is what I edited inside index.php[aka.cmp_index.php]
/home/rtheunde/public_html/forums/ do I need index.php
I am also unable to view any modules on my CMPS Page. This is unusual as I had no problems installing it elsewhere. It just appears blank in the middle. Any ideas?
I've attached a screenshot to show you what is displaying on my screen.

Lead - Just set that line to chdir('./forum');
Also, remove any traling spaces you have after the ?> at the end of the file.
JayJ - You've made the changes to your global.php file incorrectly.

So changing it to chdir('./forum'); isn't working? It did fine the other day when I did from your support ticket.

There's no reason to touch your /forum/index.php file, just the cmps_index.php (or whatever you have renamed it to).

Read and followed and still get errors
Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/rtheunde/public_html/index.php on line 21
Warning: main(./global.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/rtheunde/public_html/index.php on line 32
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/rtheunde/public_html/index.php on line 32
What am I missing here?
All the edits are done so why I am getting these errors and I also edit the path in my cmp_index.php to read " chdir('./home/rtheunde/public_html/forums'); "
is this wrong I already left it this way before " chdir('./forum'); " not working that way as well so what wrong.

Thanks I just found out why it was not working, I followed vbulletins.com installation and renamed my uploads to "forums" and it says in your instructions " chdir('./forum'); " so I just added the letter 's' to the end of "chdir('./forums');" and it worked . So much questions and just one typo and enerything goes nuts  . Darn little 's' :p
Thank u for helping me Brian I know it was trying when I was asking all these questions
But did do that image path thing did not work so well and seems my navbar clicks to no place but I check in more into that. I will summit another ticket.
