When vBa was installed part of the installation email included the following. Can you tell me how to actually make the suggested change?....

"I created a new thread in forum #34 (Announcements) and set it as the "News Forum ID". This was because if there was no ID specified or if the specified forum had no threads then the entire center column would appear blank. Once you determin which forum(s) should appear on the portal page you'll want to updagted the field from "34" to the list of forums that you want."

You don't need to change anything... If that's the News forum that you want to show up on the CMPS page for the "News" section. It will automatically pull the newest thread from that forum, and show it on the CMPS page.

How could I change what will show up for the "News" section to pull from a different forum?

Just put in the ID # of the forum you want to show there. If you hover over the link to a forum, you'll see it's ID # in the URL.

Disco4Me,

Once you have the list of forum ID's you want choose ACP --> vBa CMPS --> Default Settings --> News Forum ID and then enter the list there. For example, if you wanted to pull news from forums 1, 3, and 5 the entry would like like "1,3,5" without the quotes.

To obtain the forum ID values see the message above from Cong.

I keep changing the forum ID's but the changes don't appear on the index (they seem to be locked onto specific forums. I can change the number of posts to show but not which forums to pull from. I tried running "Click here to install ONLY the templates (useful after upgrading vBulletin) -->" but still have the same issue.

Any ideas?

Any ideas? Are you changing the values in "Default Settings" or are you changing the values in the "Edit Pages" properties? The latter over-rides the former.
