A suggestion for CMPS would be to add custom text module(s). To me, coming from the non-board world, it seems like too many sites using vba make the main home page revolve entirely around the forum. Some websites including my own, evolved from a non-board world. I now want to add a board to increase traffic and users. If a custom text area (module) could be included a site could be made to look not quite so forum heavy. For myself, I have a job postings area, directories, links to other sites, resources for users, etc....all of which have nothing to do with a forum. The board will become a major part of my site but it will not be the only part of my site. I need to give equal weight to the other income producing facets of the site.
If you could add a custom text area then that area could become a major design focal point of the homepage. It could be a module and people could move it around within vba. It may be a good sales draw as well because vba users would see it as a way to truely customize their home page beyond being forced to have vbulletin content be all they can have on their main home page.
Essentially this would be custom content not related to anything pulled from the threads of forums. It would be custom content pulled from templates/modules for the home page of a website and someone could put in anything they wanted (that is not pulled from the forums). For example, you go to most company websites and you see content that has nothing to do with forums. For example you go to CNN.com and you see a lot of information and content but it has nothing to do with boards.
As a module (or modules) it could then be placed anywhere on the vba index.php. Since vba integrates into custom skins nicely, it would make a home page look very customized.
Also see thread http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74984 for somewhat similar idea particularly the example site mentioned in the thread.
I know all this can be done be creating a template invbulletin then making that module a template but if it came with the base CMPS it would make the process simpler.
