Can someone help me with the layout of my freshly installed portal please, I have lots of blank spaces inbetween a couple of columns... how to I shorten and fill the page ? http://www.throttlejockey.co.uk/forum/portal_index.php

There's nothing to worry about there sir, yuo just have no mudules displaying any content in the middle section. If you set say your latest posts module to appear in the centre section, all will be fine.
Alternatively, you could set your news forum and news archive to appear in the centre section too.
Shout if you need more assistance.

You can easily add links to anywhere you want by editing the navbar template. You might like to have a look at this thread..

It shows you how to put a Home link in the navbar when you are viweing any forum pages, and outs a Forum link there in place of that when youare viewing the CMPS page.
