I just installed the links feature, and all seemed to go well with the install.

I've added a directory from within the admincp.

On my forum page, I don't see any links or the link feature at all.

In the Settings, I've put the links home url as www.forumpath.net/links

What am I doing wrong

Your links directory is most likely going to be located at http://yoursite.com/links, unless you installed the links folder in a different location.

To get to ym forums, you type in /itforums at the end of the url.

I put the links folder in the /itforums directory.

It doesn't work.The links don't show.I don't know why! :(

Just checked and it is at http://www.yoursite.net/itforums/links/

Thanks Bri.

I went through the FAQ again and foudn the full path to my forums.

Now instead of error messages, it's linking to the links section, but it's not letting me in.Says I don't have permission.
*tut* and here's me thinking I'm the admin

*tut* and here's me thinking I'm the admin :rolleyes:It's a quirk... just go into your ACP -- Links -- Permissions and save the settings for your groups. After that you should be fine.

Yeah I did that, cheers :D , just had to mention it, seems funny not allowing the admin all permissions by default, lol

I had the same problem as flex22 but when I:

"... just go into your ACP -- Links -- Permissions and save the settings for your groups. After that you should be fine."

There is no Links option and no means of setting permissions to access links.

Why has this not been added to the admin control panel?

The install ran without problem!

Alan

It is not automatically added to the control panel, it is one of the steps of the installation. If you do not see a menu option named "vBa Links" in your ACP then you'll need to go back and follow the installation steps again.
