hello,
I've just purchased and installed the link directory, however when I go to the admin directly after installing it and try and view the admin screen I get this message:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/gadseek/public_html/forums/admincp/vba_links_admin.php on line 1546
Please can you tell me what's gone wrong?
line 1546 refers to the end of the file...
thanks,
Tom

Did you modify that file at all? I don't see how you would get that error otherwise.

No I didnt touch the file...
I followed all the instructions to the letter as far as I can tell...
I'm also running the CMPS and I have the latest version of the forum installed 3.0.7.
I just tried unzipping the links directory again just now and uploaded a fresh copy of the vba_links_admin.php file, but I still get the same problem.

I have no clue how that would be happening. If you'd like to submit a support ticket though I'll be glad to take a look.

oh I just thought, could it be because when I bought the software I had to specify a domain for the license, but now i'm currently running this on a test domain different to the one I registered with...

Nope, that wouldn't have anything to do with it. I checked your support ticket, but your server seems to be having problems at the moment and is unable to display the page...

well that's really weird because I can see it fine...
so can you get to the website at all?

ok that's even more weird then... where abouts are you? Both those sites are hosted in the same place here in the UK, it's a bit worrying if people can't see them... but they both work fine for me.
I can see all three sites from here

well that's good anyway... does anyone have any idea why the link directory isn't working then? :(

Thanks for sorting out the problem it's working now, much appreciated.
If anyone else has this problem it was because my server was not setup to allow short code <? php tags, and there is one lurking in the file there somewhere :) So need to make this into a full tag and all works well.
