Im new and stuck! please help!

After reading the manuals and alot of forums, I still cant figure out how to post news or thread on the front page of my advanvced portal put archive of my vb on the front page. I know its simple but i just cant figure it out. Please give me step by step on how to do it. Thanks brian..
And how would i put a simple image on the right or left column?

Go in to your Admin Cp then to vBa Options

Then Defualt Settings, And find News Options

enter the forum id of your news forum, (I set up a forum, only Admins, can post in)

Then go set the other options accordingly to your needs,

go into your news forum, and make a post and see if it works

To add an image on the left or right, you need to Go into Admin Cp --> Styles and Templates --> adv_portal and edit that acordingly.

Go back to the vBa Options, Add Module, Then enter this

Module Name: News Archive
Module Identifier: newsarchive
Files to include: news.php
Active: Yes
Colrum: Center
Display Order: x <--Set mine to the bottom of the page

I think it will only appear after you have posted more 'articles' then you set in this option "News Posts Maximum" <--found in Default Settings with the News

I'm sorry if i asking dumb questions...Im new...how do you use or display the costum page content? And I dont see anywhere on there to make a poll? how do you make a poll? thanks fightrice......u helped alot....

To display the latest forum topics you need to do this..

1. Admin Cp -> vBa Options -> Add Module
2. Module Title: Latest Forum topics
File to Include: latesttopics.php
active: yes
Column: x <--I have mine on the right
Display Order: x <--I put this first
Templates used: adv_portal_latesttopics, adv_portal_latesttopicbits <--This may be different for you, but i don't think so. then save it

Thats it, latest topics should be added to your front page now.

I'm not sure how to go about adding just polls users can vote on from the front page if thats what you want, as i don't use that.

Thanks Fightrice......2 More Questions,....how Do You Display A Custom Contents And Everytime U Guys Say Forum Id...where Do I Check For The Forum Id? Everytime I Put A 2 On Forum Id..it Work...but I Dont Know Why It Work...i Try To Put In Different Number To See If It Display Different Thread Or Forum But Dont Work? Where Do I Check For The Id?

Then 11 would be your forum id. Understand?
