I know there is something exactly like this on the new MyGoogle page (http://www.google.com/ig), but I don't know how to pull the info off. If I figure it out I will post again, because I too could use it.

EDIT: Found it, that wasn't hard. I don't know exactly what you are looking for but here is a page that can get you going:

Theres a hack on vb.org (with a cmps module somewhere) called QuoteIt 2.0. It runs off your db but it might be something worth looking into.

That's what I want to do, but I want it to read from a text file on my site so I control what it posts.

How about this:

QuoteIt! version 2.0

QuoteIt! allows you to have a database of quotes integrated with your forum. Users submit quotes that can then be voted on by the other users, using your choice of two rating systems. The average installation will show a random quote on the forum home page, but you can include it on any vBulletin page. This was developed on vBulletin 3.0.7, but should work on 3.0.0 and above.

Looking at this. I don't want users to upload or vote for this particluar application. If I can get this do just show the quotes I'll use it.

Thanks.
