How do I get rid of the statistics section?

I figure I can take it out of the template, but didn't want to screw anything up.

I would remove it from the template, but leave the template in place. Make it blank, whatever.

I haven't figured out a way to hide it from certain categories, but I guess it would be easy with a conditional.
