the .module file posted above, is a new feature in vBadvanced CMPS 2.0
the new feature is the Download/Upload module.
You can use this feature to back up your templates, as well as it gives you a package to post here, then you dont need instructions, depending on how complicated the module is.
The code above tells vBadvanced what it is, is it a file mod or a template mod, and what all the settings should be.
For example
The Title is Donations
the filename being used is paypal
The template being used is adv_portal_paypal
what ever you do, you can open the file in notepad as described below, but dont modify it and save it in notepad.
That damages the file, and then you'll have to redownload it.

What tomshawk said. Personally i don't use Notepad to do any file edits, there is a awesome free text editor called Crimson Editor that works wonders. :-D

Well, as a newbie to all this I managed to get the old version working.
But I can't get this one to work, it says:
"The following template(s) already exist in this style:
adv_portal_paypal
Select 'yes' to overwrite your current templates with the new ones, or select no to keep your current templates." = yes
Then it shows up in admin, but not on the cmps, nor does any such template show in the admin styles.
Must be doing something wrong? all good fun :)

Does that fix any problems that come with other modules or just this one u made?
I tried that download/upload and it seem that I also need to make sure in edit pages I check the module box to have it display. Got it for now until CLoudRunner gets his properly working. :)
I also notice u kepted your paypal link inside that & I think u should tell ppl that cause I think u left that in by mistake right or someone might get in trouble for such a thing.

Okay I added this mod it didnt show up. I went and deleted the mod its gone but the templete is still there.
Now when I downloaded the mod again and tried to upload it is now telling me that the file is not valid.

^ Okay maybe that is my problem, now when I download the file it comes up a notepad doc automaticly now. What should I do?
Okay the mod is in place, the template has been edited but it is not showing up at all. I am getting this error after I save the edit mod. What does it mean in the pic?

Are you editing the .module file? Or the template. You can't edit the .module file
Install it, then go into your AdminCP -> Style Templates- > Adv_portal__paypal i think its called, (don't remember) And edit it from there

It didn't enable automatically on mine. The upload tool also didn't save my option of "Right column". It just stuck it in the left column and I had to move it.
Sounds like mine is buggy :(

When I submit it I get this message:

Means what it means. The directory on your site called "Modules" is not writable. No data can be written to it. FTP in to your site and change the attributes on that directory to 777 (write) and you will be fine.

Changed: <input type="hidden" name="business" value="YOURPAYPAL@HERE.com ">
..to my paypal address, uploaded it. Now when I click on the PayPal link, the checkout page is still showing YOURPAYPAL@HERE.com address.
Thanks.

The file you have uploaded is not a valid module file.
Warning: fread(): Length parameter must be greater than 0. in /admincp/vba_cmps_admin.php on line 1576
Thank you.
