View Full Version : [HELP] No Smilies on the Portal page???

I don't understand this. I've enabled smilies.

I make a post and put smilies in it... when I post it and view it from the vbAdvanced portal page, it shows the post... but where the smilie should be, there's just a space.

If I view the same post in the forum... the smilies are there...

NOW, I should mention that when I'm on the portal page and the smilies aren't showing... if I "VIEW SOURCE", there is bbcode for the smilie in that spot.

Example:

this is my text .

..............................

when I view source:

this is my text :dunce:.

Any ideas how to fix this??

Try uploading the CMPS install file to your admin cp, go to it in your browser, and select the option to update your image paths.

Yeah... I just did a new search and see that you've answered this question COUNTLESS times.

I had full paths for the smilies but it still didn't work. So I did like you said, and it listed the full paths (and didn't hi-lite in red), so I "SAVED" and it still didn't work.

So, I tried again. This time I clicked ONE checkbox to update the path... the Presto-chango... ALL the smilies worked.

Strange... but it's functional. Thanks for answering and sorry for making you repeat yourself again.

No problem at all. As you probably gathered from your search, I'm used to it by now. :p
