I have a style/skin that I purchased that works ok on my vbulletin layout, but it looks awful on my vBadvanced home. I understand that the original creator of the style is no longer contactable and I'd like to find someone that can help me tweak things so that the style looks good on the CMPS pages. Some example problems are that the logo and background images are not showing up on the CMPS page, and the general overall look isn't looking too good. The contrast is clear here:

Looks like it's just some image path issues for the most part...
Admin CP => Style Manager => {select style} => All Style Options
On that page, make sure you have the full URL to each folder listed under the 'Image Paths' section. Then you may want to check your header template and make sure that you have the full URL for any <img> tags in there.

Thanks for taking a look. I checked all of the style image path settings and the header info and they look ok. I'm pretty sure they are all correct because they work fine on the forum pages. I'm not seeing any settings that would apply to just the vBadvanced page and not the forum page.

Go back to that same page in your style manager. Just below the 'Image Paths' section, you'll see all of the CSS settings. In a few of them (Body, Page Background, Table Header, etc) you will see url(images_fargoth/someimage.gif). Make sure each of those is pointing to the full URL to the image.

Fixed the logo issue by going into the vBadvanced cp and adding the skin images folder name into the "header replacements" section, so that it now properly prefixes the forums/ path. Now if I can figure out how to get the background image to appear I think I'll be set.

Making progress, but have another problem. I got the background images appearing by going into the css settings for the style and adding /forums/ in front of the url for the background images. Now there seems to be multiple instances of the background image appearing and overlapping. I found a couple of posts reporting similar problems and tried the suggested fix of editing my 'adv_portal' template and removing class="page" from the table there, but this does not seem to make any difference. Brian or any other kind/patient peoples have any other suggestions?
scratch that. making the change to adv_portal did help, if I change the right style :/ DOah. Am almost there..just now having header and footer background images not lining up properly with the main body.

If you have your forums set to a specific width then you may need to edit your adv_portal template and change the width in the main template there to the same as your forums.
if you still had any problems with your skin, feel free to contact me, and I'll try to fix it for you.

Well this was a strange fix, but today I activated the "News" module (default center column) and entered a post and somehow after doing this the background images for my header, footer and page body all lign up correctly.
Thanks for all of the help Brian and others. I think all of my style problems are resolved now.

You need to make the right column a little smaller since the menu is expanding past the border of the design.
