I have an issue with the forum software and vBulletin wants me to restore to default is there a way to do it without messing things up?

Uninstall vba_cmp ,as for the custom template modules well I have not tried to figure how to get rid of them yet.
U need to wait for this version to be ported to vb3.5 , that is when I assume it just a pluggin and no hacking is involved.
That is a good idea for vba_cmp to adjust your setting and configure if it was a stand alone product so u can fix what every is wrong with your forum even to reinstalling it and all u need to do is plug it back in without redoing the settings.

A person requesting support from Jelsoft should be able to just temporarily remove the entries from global.php, or restore a fresh copy, to put vB back in it's original form again.
