Is there already a knowledge base/articles module available?
on my site what i'm really after is the ability to write a few different tutorials that cover different topics and have them accessible from the nav module. i.e. engine tuning link takes you to a list of engine tuning tutorials. In-car-entertainment to the ICE tutorials etc. But i'm after it working in the same way as the news or latest threads (i'm currently storing tutorials in 2 hidden forums). Is there a way to do this, or better yet has anyone else already done this :)
Many thanks

Have you had a look at the articles hacks available at vbulletin.org?

There is a hack for Vbulletin that can do it, but i was hoping to have it as part of the portal and not on the forum itself, with the old ASP portal/forum i was using till last week had a knowledge base built-in (might be a handy thing in future releases or if someone wants to make a hack (i lack the knowledge)), the other problem i see is that i'm not overly fond of messing around with vbulletin itself.
Thing is i've finally got the portal working how i want (and i must say it's by far the best vbulletin portal i've found) and really want to stick with it but plan to make the portal the main area of activity instead of the forum. Is there a way to duplicate the news module and re-use it, i.e. for each articles section i could have another news module but attached to a different hidden forum so i'd have say 3 news modules each one gathering threads from a different forum but have them in separate pages, so clicking say ICE in the nav box would bring up the ICE page and have the news from the ICE forum. Is there any way that can be done or would it involve a lot of complex modifications (bearing in mind im a PHP newb and a Vbulletin newb for that matter too :) ).
Thanks
yes you can duplicate modules by using the copy modules feature, but for most of the modules, if you want them to all show in the same page, you have to add more templates and also have to change each of their codes. Knowing that your not that good with php / vb, you might want to find someone to help you out with this, or search the forums for it.
to give you some idea, once you copy a module, lets say the new module, and activate it in the same page as the page that has the news module enabled, then you need to change the php file of the duplicated template so that it will call different variables then the actuall news, and possibly different templates, if you don't want the two to look a like.
I know it's a bit confusing the way I explained it, maybe someone else could explain it in a easier way. :D But to answer the question, yes that is possible to do, for someone with the good knowledge of coding i guess.
