Two issues, really.

One, I can't seem to figure out how to specify a specific forum ID using RSS 2.0 (Apple's iTunes would support plain old RSS)...so I either get

feed://www.gothambaseball.com/forums/external.php?forumids=34

Which has the files I want to list, or,

feed://www.gothambaseball.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2

Which has proper time stamps and the ability to work with iTunes, but no way to sort on the non-audio from the audio.

Ideas?

Second: playing around a bit with RSS, it seems like a better way to list stories on one's news portal front page. Has anyone designed simple modules for this sort of thing?

I really haven't done much with RSS, so I can't be of much help. If you search the forums here though I know quite a few people have had some discussions about it and released a few modules.

I have made RSS modules for many things.
ex: http://www.gzhq.net
(Netflicks.com) Block.
(L.O.T.G.D.) Block.

I used CARP - http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/
to cache the results to the local webserver.
