www.SoundChilds.net MY SC (http://www.soundchilds.net/my_sc.php) is based on vBadvanced CMPS. vBulletin as the forum and other vBa products joined.
###EDIT###
The site is currently re-designed for V2 and this process will at least over summer 2006.
###EDIT###
Comments are naturally well appreciated. I would especially need your comments about whether you understand the core idea of the portal and if the presentation text at the introduction pages (http://www.soundchilds.net/intro/index_v2.php) is readable enough.
Have a wild summer of 2006!

I wish you good luck :) This Has taken 2-3 coders a year (effectively perhaps a work year of 1 man) to get to the current stage. Integrating an accounting system fitting the conceptual idea has been the most complex task to tackle. I surely hope itīs been worth it. I guess weīll see about that soon :D

Overall nice layout and colors.
Only element that doesn't work for me is on the main page, the white logo and words on the upper left seems to clash. The colors of that logo on the other pages seem to blend much better.
Related - what is the purpose of having the words "Sound Childs" repeated so close to each other - once in white and once in grey?

Seriously?
The style doesn't look much different to the default, the orange clashes majorly with the other colours (I am an orange lover, so it's not that I am biased against orange), it appears to be oddly left-aligned (in firefox anyway), the yellow/black bits look strange and the background image disappears once the page has done loading.

First to your question. Yes. Seriously. Addmittedly there are even bigger problems regarding the layout if browsing with Safari and some other niche browsers. At least a Mac enthusiast friend of mine has his configured in a way the site doesnīt appear at all below the headers and frankly I havenīt got a clue why this is.
The major part of the coding is about getting the business model working properly online - not the layout. I am a seed stage entrepreneur and from that perspective I have had to make compromises when thinking of optimising the layout for different browsers - especially regarding layout native coding from scratch would have probably been easier; but then it would have become a matter of budget real soon. So... At this stage the layout has been optimised solely for IE with javascript and cookies allowed, as IE currently seems to bring 70%+ of the visitors.
The colours... Yes. You are absolutely right (from your perspective :D). Some people find the scale far too much into their face and clashing, but then, if someone would be able to show off with a portal that would completely please everyone, wouldnīt that be quite odd?
I made an intentional decission to break out from the more typical blue-gray business like styling since the business idea evolves around music and such stuff that imo need some more punch when presented.
But hey... So much for explaining!
Best regards and thanks for your comment,
-Mika

Hi Stachel!
Thanks to you also for your nice comment :) Hmm... I donīt quite grab your last sentence about the white and grey words... Would you mind explaining that in more detail?
