I don't like to mention any competitive forum software developers, but when I was using IPB there was this useful SDK Mod that was able to pull forum info that you chose and display it on your webpage outside of the forum. I found this very useful and I am now working with some one using VB, which I actually like better than IPB, I was just use to IPB at the time.
Anyway, for my site gaming-vortex I am trying to pull info from the 'latesttopics' and 'newest members' pages of the forums and display them on my site; however, it won't work and I even downloaded the CMPS mod, except that only works if you stay within the boundaries of a portal within the forum folder. I want to go outside of the forum's folder and be able to display forum content on a seperate site. How can this be done?
Cheers,
Josh

You could use an RSS feed.

Could you refresh my memory what that means? I am sort of a "newbie" at this VB stuff. I have heard of RSS outside of VB, but I am not familiar with the term.

See Image below. If you have those enabled you can then use:
http://www.ravensrealm.net/forum/external.php?type=xml
http://www.ravensrealm.net/forum/external.php?type=rss2
in any newsfeed reader and place it on any site you wish.
I am using one such feed in the image in my signature.
