It seems that cmps_index.php or whatever you name it, needs to be in the same dir as your forums? I need help out of this...
I currently have my forums located in /forums/
however I want my cmps_index.php (later to be renamed to index.php) to be at root level
so when for instance, you hover over "forums" link it will point to forums/index.php
can I have cmps_index.php at root and my forums in another directory? If so how? Its not working now, even though I have changed the path in the default settings

That's the way a LOT of people install it. It can be in any location you want, as long as you edit cmps_index.php to specify the full path to the location of your forums where indicated.

I just cant log in from my homepage, or when I hover my mouse over forums, it doesnt show /forums/index.php, rather it shows index.php.
taking away the backslash was a no go

I have also set this in the default options to:
CMPS URL
The full URL to the CMPS file.

For the login problems, http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1341
As for the other, can you post a link to your site so I can see the links you're referring to?

I guess it was working all along, I just needed to add, $vboptions[bburl]
to some of the links ;)
because some of the links already were pointed at the forums/ correctly

If CMPS is working correctly, it will update those links automatically, on-the-fly. No need to prefix them yourself.

even for installed hacks with certain links? Installed modules? hmmm
Well either way, all seems fine

If you look at the top section of the CMPS admin, you'll see where you can add any custom PHP files that are being linked, so that it can update those links as well.

I am having a similar problem with http://kretzmannfamily.com
It appears as though the replacements are not working? I think I have it all configured correctly....
Any ideas?

Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Default Settings
Copy the values in your 'Navbar Replacements' option over to your 'Header Replacements' option.
