Brian, could you create a script based on "vbacmps_install.php" to make easier the life of translators ? I'm going to explain myself.

Your setup script install phrases with languageid = "0". It will be great if you can write a second script (only for text that needs to be translated) with a setup screen allowing foreign webmaster to enter the number of his main translation language.

Example :
-You create the translation php file
-The translator inserts his traduction in your file and give it back to you.
-The foreign webmaster download the language file. He copies it into his admincp directory and starts it.
-The Php tells him he is installing the translation of vB CMPS vX.x and asks him to specify the id number of his main translation language.
-The Phrases are installed without erasing the original english language.
-Now final users can use vB CMPS both in English or in the language of his choice.

Would you be ok ?

Can't you just download the translations in an XML file through your Admin CP and then the other users upload the file and choose the language there?

I don't think it's possible because when you upload an xml translation through Admin CP, you have to choose between create or replace a language... I think it's easier and more logical to create a plug-in for a language than to create a special translation of Vbulletin with vB CMPS translated phrases included.

Nevertheless, i may be wrong 'cause i don't know the good way to proceed.

I'm working on it here :
http://forum.vbulletin-fr.org/showthread.php?t=8800

It's almost done but it needs Vb 3.5 RC1.

Just a problem to solve :

I do want to say that i would have liked an answer to my first question. Even a "No". It would have been smarter.

French translation xml file for vBadvanced CMPS v2 RC2 here :

For next version, it would be nice to transform titles of adv_modules into phrases if possible. Because even with my translation file, users can't have a real multi-language system.

Through your Phrase Manager in vBulletin, the same way that you would translate vB phrases.

To Brian....If i have a langugae file from vb ( Da.xml ).. Can i just insert it to vbadgallery or what. And where?

What about the buttons

I don't believe so since the gallery phrases are in a different phrasegroup from your forums. While that would change some of the global phrases that are used from vB in the gallery, it wouldn't affect them all.
What about what buttons exactly?

Admin CP => Languages & Phrases => Phrase Manager

Go there, select the different "vBadvanced x" phrases from the drop-down menu at the top, and then start translating. :)

I think after you do the translation, you can download it as xml file.
