Edit & Reply Showing Up For All Users

Hi Brian,

I found a thread (and lost it!) referring to this back in June and I see that you updated the code to fix it - unfortunately - it is a problem we are experiencing.

In the news modules, everyone can see the edit and reply buttons. (The edit works great if you have permissions to edit - but for everyone else it's confusing.)

We are running 3.5 beta 4 with a brand new install of CMPS 2 RC2.

Have you modified your 'adv_portal_newsbits' template at all? If so, try reverting it.

No I haven't. It's a fresh install so there are no modifications of the templates. Any other ideas?

And as an addendum, I just noticed that attached files are showing up as text. (Images are linked correctly - just ran the install again to make sure - and thumbnails have been re-indexed.)

I'm really not sure how you would be having those problems, but if you'd like to submit a support ticket via the Members' Area here I'll be glad to take a look.
