Can you make this just one phrase?

Right now it is
this_poll_has & {1} & replies

The sentence structure is not like English in all languages. There is no way to rephrase this sentence in this form in my language. It would be good if there are two phrases like

this_poll_has_one_reply
and
this_poll_has_x_replies

I know I can change this according to my needs by modifying the templates but I want the software to be perfect by itself.
