Link to forum

Hi,
this must be a very dumb question, but I can't figure it out myself as a newbie: how do I place a link to the forum (what used to be the index in the vbulletin standalone version) in the cmps homepage? And how can I place a article with news for the visitors in that cmps homepage? I reckon it will be the news module, but how do I make one that is not displayed on every new page? And how do I make a new page with content from the forum? With a page made with templates (what is that anyway?) or modules? BB-codes? I'm a little confused...

To add a link to your forum you just edit your templates and add the code wherever you would like. If you want a dynamic one like the forum/home link in the navbar here there is a hack in the hacks forum for this.
For the news module, edit your settings and enter a forumid in the 'News Forum ID' option.
