How would I include the What's Going On? box from the forum home page to the vbadvanced page?

It probably wouldn't be too hard to mimic that box by editing the templates for the Who's online, stats, and birthdays modules.

I would be very interested to know how to do this. I'm also using flashchat with the hack to see who's in flashchat that attaches to the what's going on box.

How would I make a module for that and mimic these modules to appear like the what's going on box?

Move them all together, one on top of the other. Set the 'Use Module Shell' option to 'No' for all of them, then add a starting <table> tag in the template for the first one and an ending </table> tag in the template for the last one. You may still need to make a few more tweaks, but that should get you started at least.
