View Full Version : Navbar trouble

I have tried searching but am coming up empty

I installed CMPS 2.0RC2 and vB3.0.7 at an addon domain for one of my clients. (he has 2 vB licenses, one for the main domain and one for the addon)

Both seem to be working fine EXCEPT on cmps, the navbar links for Quick Links and Search do not drop down. CLick Search brings you to the advanced search, and quick links does nothing.

There are really no big customizations, except I added the:

<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'">

<!-- customer cmps header info here -->

<else />

<!-- reg content here> -->

</if>
condition to the header template, so the cmps page can use a different header image.

Ideally, I need to lose the original navbar on the cmps page, and have a new navbar with a link to the forums, a quick links drop down (that I can customize with relevant links - which I have done before on his other board but things have apparently changed between vB 3.03 running on his 1st board and now, the new 3.07 install - that or I have lost more brain cells than I thought ;) ) and maybe a link to one or two other items. Im just concerned that the quick links and the search drop downs are not working, so before I try to customize anything, Id like to figure that issue out. I havent touched my own vB in months (work has been insane, and this adventure is because the guy is a buddy of my husband, and the boards are for their gaming forums) so I am admittedly rusty! (Seriously, the users on my boards must think I died and abandoned the boards! Sad but true :( )

I hope this makes sense?

Thanks!

Respectfully bumping this request up again (after waiting more than the 24 hours outlined in the rules)

Does anyone have any idea why the Search & Quick Links drop down menus work fine on the forums page and not on the CMPS page?

I'll be looking into the issue shortly once I get to support tickets. Sorry I haven't been able to get to it yet, but I've been on dial-up this week and just finally got an FTP program and decent text editor downloaded today.

NO need for an apology Brian - thank you for your efforts (and my condolences on the dial up!) Knowing you have it in queue is more than enough for me :)

Just a very public thank you to Brian for his expert eye and easy to understand fix - and to clarify this was MY screw up, nothing at all wrong with CMPS :o

In her case, he had removed the $footer variable from his adv_portal template.

in HER case ;)

I had the variable header and footer in there, so i had a different header and footer for the CMPS pages then the forum pages - i messed up my cut and paste and Brian's eagle eye caught it 1-2-3
