Need To Make New Module

Hi there, sorry for the ignorant question, however, I would like to create a module that shows the recent post from a certain forum. Much like how the recent threads modules works.

Could you all help me out...thanks!

Ok actually it is not that easy...

I see 2 templates for the recent threads as well as one php file.

What am I supposed to do??

AdminCP->CMPS->Edit Modules->Latest Forum Topics->Select An Action->Copy

Then give it a new name/options/location/etc.

Is it normal after copying the Recent Threads module and renaming the new one, to have to select the forums that you want shown in that module multiple times?

I copied the module, selected the forums that I wanted displayed. It then showed the incorrect post in the new module so I had to go back in and select the proper forum. I also needed to go back into the Recent Threads module and again select the forums that I wanted included.

Almost seems like when you copy the module, it removes the forums and they have to be re-added.

Any thoughts?

Yes, that's because why would you have two modules doing exactly the same thing? If you copied your Recent Threads modules, vBA assumes you are doing this because you want to display threads from a different forum - hence resetting the selections.
