Lightning123,

As Cong' said that can be done already. Just add the file type in the Gallery CP and that'll allow you to upload those types of videos to the Gallery. If you then want to play the video files inline there is a hack available for that.

:DI'm just trying to get as many people to use it as possible so that Brian includes it as a basic feature.... everytime I upgrade Gallery I keep forgetting to copy my hacked version so I end up having to start all over again. :p :D

For sure.
I hate it when you make a suggetsion and someone says "but there's a hack for that"

The hack is just to play them inline. The suggestion, to have Gallery support video files, is already a standard feature.

Hi kw802,

are you also checking the Thumbnailing from Movie Files/SWF Files. I read something about ffmpeg or something like that ? Is it planned ?

th@nks and gr33tzI think auto-thumbnails of videos is something that Brian is/was looking into for a possible future release.

But how would it decide which frame from the video to take? B/c the first frame is mostly not the one you would like to have...

I think the option to just select a thumbnail for the video would be fine.

I think the option to just select a thumbnail for the video would be fine.I'm not sure what his plans were in regards to automatically creating thumbs for videos. I think, though, that we're more likely to see uploading of thumbs for videos before the automatic creation of them.
