View Full Version : It just got worse, and worse.
Last nite trying to upgrade my Cmps 1.0.1 to 2 went crazy.
As soon as I started the upgrade it said i was using 1.0 and wanted me to upgrade to 1.0.1 first..
I knew i installed 1.0.1 ages ago. So i un installed it and tried re installing 2.0, and got **** load of sql errors during the install telling me the 'varname' or values already exist in sql, cant install bla bla.
Now my board is fux0red.
How did that happen, i cant even install it again, tells me all the sql is there, why didnt they get removed upon un-install.
What now??
Please..!?

mholtum, good idea.. Thought of this, i checked out the database and there are a fair few portal/adv values..
Out of curiosity, could someone please guide me and list the tables i will need to delete for the re-install. Only the things to install vba cmps 2.x.
Please. Much appreciated.

Thanks Neal
BUT
there are some values in those tables that aren being used by other modules/hacks such as gallery random pic, geek article module values..
Deleting those tables will delete these values and cause them hacks/add ons not to function correctly right?
If so is there any values within those tables i can just delete not to cause malfunction?

your gallery, cmps and links tables are seperate, the gallery is called adv_gallery and adv_gallery_WHATEVER and links is just links and links_WHATEVER
If you have modded the tables in some way, then probably best seeing what someone else says.

Do NOT remove the adv_setting and adv_settinggroup tables as those are global vBa tables.
So what values/tables should i remove in order to install vba cmps 2 sql error-free?

adv_pages and adv_modules
by the way installing it this way, will it overwrite my current vba settings and interface, will it be a stock cmps?
just in:
vBadvanced CMPS Install
vBadvanced CMPS is already installed!

Try running this query and then installing:
DELETE FROM adv_setting WHERE varname = 'portal_version'
If that still doesn't work, your best bet may be to uninstall and then reinstall.

Brian, if i submit ticket, do you think you can fix the cmps, and possible being back my old one. v1.0. or1.0.1 which ever it was.
I just cant be bothered anymore and my portal has been down for 2 days now and its buggering.. You reckon you can see if it can be fixed? or not.. otherwise I might just revert a whole backup.

Sure, if you'd like to submit a ticket it shouldn't be too hard for me to get things straightned up for you.
