Yes, you will still need to apply the file changes. The changes are very similar for the two products, except there are three added, simple changes to your global.php file. There's an option in the CMPS installer to import your homepage settings, so once you install the CMPS and get it set up you can then uninstall the homepage.

By 'Cpanel' I assume you mean your Admin CP? If you made the modifications to your forum/admincp/index.php file then you will see a new group of options for the CMPS in the left frame.
Duh !! .. Thanks Brian .. that was easy enough ( with instructions ) :)

So before I o and screw something up, let me be sure :)
I have vbadvanced homepage installed and want to upgrade to CPMS I don't need to change any of the original template changes? I do need to make the 3 changes to the /forum/global.php file and i need to change 'index' => 'Index', to 'adv_portal' => 'vBadvanced CMPS', in the adminfunctions_template.php file then just run the install? Then after it is installed, uninstall the old vbadvanced homepage?

You do still need to apply the template and file changes. Other than that, everything else is correct. :)

Brian,
Are the template changes different than the ones I added for vbadvanced homepage ?
They looked the same..

They are just slightly different. In the homepage, the variable $dontshowweek is used. In the CMPS it's $show[dontshowweek]. ;)

Guys, thanks so much for the info in this thread, I just switched to the CMPS version since I was in a hurry the othe day and installed the homepage version without noticing.
This made my life much easier and took me adout 15 minutes to do the upgrade.
Thanks again.
Oh just a tip for any other newbies out there. Instead of tryingt o figure out what to change in your php files that already have homepage coded into them, just go onto your hard drive and grab the original php from your vbulletin upload folder and mod the fresh files. Makes it much easier.
