    I'ts not difficult, take the time en play with it.
    You can make a backup of your template (copy/past) it in a text file.

    I'm certainly game for a giving it a whirl. Can someone point me in the right direction for getting started. I want to change some of the links to point to specific categories on my site. Which pieces of the code do I change?

    For Example:

    <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/chat.php$session[sessionurl_q]">Chat</a></td></tr>
    <tr onmouseover="this.className='alt1'" onmouseout="this.className='alt2'"><td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_dash.gif" alt=""/>

    I can figure out how to change the item in the menu from chat to something else but where (and in what format) do I put the new url?

    Thanks,

    You must edit the part that is red.

    Code:
    <tr onmouseover="this.className='alt1'" onmouseout="this.className='alt2'"><td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_dash.gif" alt=""/> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td></tr>
    For Example

    Code:
    http://www.google.nl/">Google
    OR

    Code:
    http://your.domein.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=19">Forums
    OR

    Code:
    $vboptions[bburl]/forumdisplay.php?f=19">Forums

    Arrow 9 search engines add on for search

    Is there a way to open only the search engines in a new browser so the users do not leave your site?

    I don't mean to dog on this module but there isn't a damn thing advanced about it. All it is is basic HTML. The original navigation module for vBadvanced is more advanced then this.

    First things I would look at.
    Thanks for this........now it shows up! Next thing, to figure out why the images arent working.

    I've uploaded them to the misc folder
    Upload upnew.gif & navbits_dash.gif to your skins ( 'misc' ) folder.

    fixed! Images appear. I uploaded them to the images/misc folder INSTEAD of my skin/misc folder

    duh

    *edit

    All done! For a newbie it only took about 30 minutes from start to finish, and that includes the template editing.

    Check it out at www.clubracer.net

    Thanks for the NICE add on!

    Wink Re: Advanced Navigation module for vBulletin 3.5.x and CMPS 2.0

    Thanks for this great module.
    I've played around with the template a bit and its really easy to customize. Since I want to use a leveled approach like with the original Nav menu I modified one of the GIFs that came along and changed the code appropriatly.

    The following or similar should be a line in the Navmenu Template
    Code:
    <tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_dash.gif" alt=""/> <if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'"><a href="$vboptions[bburl]/forum.php" target="_blank"> Forum <else /> <a href="$vboptions[homeurl]"> Home </a></if></td></tr>
    ADD BELOW (of course you can modify the link).
    Code:
    <tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_line.gif" alt=""/><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_dash.gif" alt=""/> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=45$session[sessionurl_q]">New Posts</a></td></tr>
    And it should look like the attached screenshot. Looks a bit neater then just doing an inline with the regular Gif. No offending space

    If you want to use it, just modify your code appropriatly and put the attached Gif in your skin/misc folder just like with the other ones.

    I LOVE your module! Very nice. Anyhow, I made a couple of changes to suit my needs but I'm wondering if you could show me how to make another button like the Admin CP, but instead it goes to the Mod CP. When I tried I got a bunch of errors. Thank you!

    Code:
    <!-- Administrators -->
    <if condition="$show['admincplink']"> <br>
    <table class="alt1" height="18" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td align="center">

    <tr class="alt1">
    <td align="center" class="tcat"><span id="other"><strong> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/$admincpdir/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank"> $vbphrase[admin]</a></strong></span></td></tr>
    <!-- / Administrators -->

    add Modcp:

    Replace :

    Code:
    <!-- Administrators -->
    <if condition="$show['admincplink']"> <hr size="1"/>
    <table class="alt1" height="18" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td align="center">

    <tr class="alt1">
    <td align="center" class="tcat"><span id="other"><strong> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/$admincpdir/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank"> $vbphrase[admin]</a></strong></span></td></tr>
    <!-- / Administrators -->
    </td>
              </tr>
          </table>

    </if>
      </tr>
    With this:

    Code:
    <!-- Administrators -->
    <if condition="$show['admincplink']"> <hr size="1"/>
    <table class="alt1" height="18" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td align="center">

    <tr class="alt1">
    <td align="center" class="tcat"><span id="other"><strong> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/$admincpdir/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank"> $vbphrase[admin]</a></strong></span></td></tr>
    <!-- / Administrators -->
    </td>
              </tr>
    </if>
      </tr>

    <!-- Moderators -->
    <if condition="$show['modcplink']"> <hr size="1"/>
    <table class="alt1" height="18" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr onmouseover="this.className='alt2'" onmouseout="this.className='alt1'"><td align="center">

    <tr class="alt1">
    <td align="center" class="tcat"><span id="other"><strong><a href="$vboptions[bburl]/$modcpdir/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank">$vbphrase[mod]</a></strong></span></td></tr>
    <!-- / Moderators -->
    </td>
              </tr>

    Your module really helped sway us over. The original Nav module is childish compared to this. Thanks for the help - especially with the MOD CP link!

    I have a strange issue... I am having issues with the

    <hr size="1"/>

    tag in the code... It is not showing up in the places as compared in the code... I do not think there is a </hr> code, but it is not acting correct... Anyone have this issue?
