Default Creating a link back to CMPS home page in navbar

How do I create a link in my navbar that leads users back to their CMPS home page? I see vBadvanced has this with a "home" link in the navbar. I tried doing this by creating a "home" link that leads back to my index.php file but it will not show up. Is there something I'm missing?

    thanks in advance,
    Jawinn

I have created another forum in a subdirectory running CMPS. I have added the script to create the home/forum link in the navbar.

When I go to the home page (which is CMPS) for the forum the link for the forums is displayed. When I click on it I go to the new forums in the subdirectory. When I click on the "home" link in the forums I am taken to the root directory forums home page. I need to be taken back to the CMPS home page for the forums in the subdirectory. How do I do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Admin CP => vBulletin Options => Site Name / URL / Contact Details => Homepage URL

Make sure you have that option set to the URL where you have the CMPS installed.

I'm setting up a new forum and I'm attempting to setup the same thing again as mentioned above. I cannot find the code: <!--<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]">Home</a></td>-->

    mentioned in: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41

    Thanks in advance,

Thats what you need to ADD. You won't find it in the default navbar template.

I understand that. What I'm saying is that I cannot find the code mentioned first that I have to find and then replace with the new code.

If you are adding it, then you just add it, no need to replace anything. Try putting in in the navbar where you want it to appear and see what happens.

I added it in the same place as my other forum and this is what I get when I click on the "forums" link in my nav bar:

    Not Found
The requested URL //cmps_index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have to mention that my forum files and my vB advanced files are in the same directory and I made the change to make the CMPS page the "index: file.

I hate to thread bump, but I really need a solution for this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this error (see above)?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jawinn

Sounds like you're linking to an invalid file. Change the link to point to whatever you've renamed your cmps_index.php file to and it should work fine.

Exactly. My cmps_index.php file is now my index.php file. I did this b/c my vB files are in the same directory as my vB Advanced files, the root directory. There is no place in the script to change where it points.

    Should I post the script?

Change cmps_index.php to index.php in your code then.

I have done that already. That is how the two coexist in the root. I followed this procedure http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25, which has worked in the past and seems to be working now.

The problem is that the script, which is listed on this site, is referencing the cmpc_index.php in the error message that comes up when I click on the "forums" link in the nav bar. You can see the problem for yourself here www.patriotward.com.

I cannot change this b/c the link is created by the script (see below).

    <td class="vbmenu_control"><if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'"><a href="$vboptions[bburl]/$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"> Forums <else /> <a href="$vboptions[homeurl]?$session[sessionurl]"> Home </if></a></td>

I hope this clarifies the problem.

    Change this:

    $vboptions[bburl]/$vboptions[forumhome].php

    To this:

    /forum.php

And that should take care of the problem.

    That worked.
