Thread: Parse error: vba_links_admin.php on line 105

    Default Parse error: vba_links_admin.php on line 105

    On a new install when I try to access "Modify Settings" for the links directory in the admincp, I get the following:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /hsphere/local/home/arhollow/wherewevebeen.com/forum/admincp/vba_links_admin.php on line 105

    I am using vBulletin 3.0.7 and Links Directory v1.0.1.

    How do I correct this?

    My first suggestion would be to upload the default vBa Links files and then try again.

    When you say the "default vBa Links files" I'm assuming these are the files that I downloaded. If this is correct, I have uploaded them.

    If I remove the line (line 105) below from the vba_links_admin.php file, I can access the Modify Settings area from the admincp. Do I need this line? If so, could someone tell me what my problem is?

    PHP Code:
     $cversion = @file_get_contents('http://license.v' chr(98) . 'a' chr(100) . 'v' '' 'a' '' 'nc'ed.com/?p=2&furl' . $vboptions['bburl'], 'r');

    Odd, that line shouldn't even generate an error...

    I'm getting the exact error in the exact circumstance. Should I also delete line 105? Is there a way to just disable the line without physically removing it?

    Actually there is an error in that line. It just gets the current version number of the links directory to notify you of updates, so isn't absolutely necessary. I have just updated the vB 3.0 download package to correct the typo so you could either download it again and replace the file, or just change that line to this:

    Code:
    $cversion = @file_get_contents('http://license.v' . chr(98) . 'a' . chr(100) . 'v' . '' . 'a' . '' . 'nced.com/?p=2&furl' . $vboptions['bburl'], 'r');

    Thanks, that fixed it.
