    I used this js script and it finally started working for me

    Question Re: Countdown Module

    I was able to install this and followed the instructions closely, however the only thing showing on my homepage is just "countdown" not the actual timer. I'm attaching a screen cap (see above moon phase). Can you tell me what else I need to do?

    I tried this module on 3.6.8 and VBa CMPS 3.0 RC2 and all I get is the title block nothing in the countdown window.

    The target date is set as:
    TargetDate = "10/03/2008 12:00 AM UTC-0500";

    And I tried the location of countdown.js in the last line using both the fully qualified domain name http://www.blah.blah.blah.com/clientscript/countdown.js as well as I tried ti by the server path /home/public_html/clientscript/countdown.js and it did not work either way.

    Is this a dead module?

    I got it to work!! Yay me!!

    This is my template code, I added "id=clock" to the div. class can be changed to your own class or removed.
    Code:
    <tr>
      <td class="$bgclass"><div id="clock" class="smallfont" align="center">
    Clock count</div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    TargetDate = "02/17/2008 03:40 PM";
    BackColor = "red";
    ForeColor = "white";
    CountActive = true;
    CountStepper = -1;
    LeadingZero = true;
    DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Days, %%H%% Hours, <br />%%M%% Minutes, %%S%% Seconds.";
    FinishMessage = "Game Time!!";
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.redandwhiteonline.com/forum/clientscript/countdown.js"></script>
    </td></tr>
    This is my countdown.js. written by the same person, just slightly different to the one in post #1.
    Code:
    /*
    Author: Robert Hashemian
    http://www.hashemian.com/

    You can use this code in any manner so long as the author's
    name, Web address and this disclaimer is kept intact.

    function calcage(secs, num1, num2) {
      s = ((Math.floor(secs/num1))%num2).toString();
      if (LeadingZero && s.length < 2)
        s = "0" + s;
      return "<b>" + s + "</b>";
    }

    function CountBack(secs) {
      if (secs < 0) {
        document.getElementById("clock").innerHTML = FinishMessage;
        return;
      }
      DisplayStr = DisplayFormat.replace(/%%D%%/g, calcage(secs,86400,100000));
      DisplayStr = DisplayStr.replace(/%%H%%/g, calcage(secs,3600,24));
      DisplayStr = DisplayStr.replace(/%%M%%/g, calcage(secs,60,60));
      DisplayStr = DisplayStr.replace(/%%S%%/g, calcage(secs,1,60));

      document.getElementById("clock").innerHTML = DisplayStr;
      if (CountActive)
        setTimeout("CountBack(" + (secs+CountStepper) + ")", SetTimeOutPeriod);
    }

    function putspan(backcolor, forecolor) {
     document.write("<span id='cntdwn' style='background-color:" + backcolor +
                    "; color:" + forecolor + "'></span>");
    }

    if (typeof(BackColor)=="undefined")
      BackColor = "white";
    if (typeof(ForeColor)=="undefined")
      ForeColor= "black";
    if (typeof(TargetDate)=="undefined")
      TargetDate = "12/31/2020 5:00 AM";
    if (typeof(DisplayFormat)=="undefined")
      DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Days, %%H%% Hours, %%M%% Minutes, %%S%% Seconds.";
    if (typeof(CountActive)=="undefined")
      CountActive = true;
    if (typeof(FinishMessage)=="undefined")
      FinishMessage = "";
    if (typeof(CountStepper)!="number")
      CountStepper = -1;
    if (typeof(LeadingZero)=="undefined")
      LeadingZero = true;

    CountStepper = Math.ceil(CountStepper);
    if (CountStepper == 0)
      CountActive = false;
    var SetTimeOutPeriod = (Math.abs(CountStepper)-1)*1000 + 990;
    putspan(BackColor, ForeColor);
    var dthen = new Date(TargetDate);
    var dnow = new Date();
    if(CountStepper>0)
      ddiff = new Date(dnow-dthen);
    else
      ddiff = new Date(dthen-dnow);
    gsecs = Math.floor(ddiff.valueOf()/1000);
    CountBack(gsecs);
    Hope this helps.

    Using the code from rwoscott on post #51 works perfectly on VB3.7.2, VB Adv 1.0.2 & CMPS 3.0.2 .

    Would anyone be able to tell me how to change the size/colour of the countdown text? Have tried a couple of ways including the span method suggested by the writer of the javascript, but to no avail.
