    Default AJAX Tabs Content Script - Version 3.0 (YUI) (vb4 mod fix!)

    I don't take credit for making this entire module bobster65 is the original author. However I did fix recent threads and blogs module to make it compatible with vb4.0 and compatible with IE6.0/7.0/8.0/9.0 since it wasn't publicly available yet. The blog module is also compatible with the CMS release of blogs.

    Please follow the instructions on how to install the YUI tabs below from this link
    http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31617

    For the tabs use the ones attached below as samples. Remember you must edit the forumid's in the tabsample for them to show up properly.

    Example: http://www.freefrag.com/

    Thanks for looking.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your work, but I have a problem, the umlauts are shown in the article incorrect. In the rest of the forum everything works properly. see picture.

    You may want to review the code for this. I don't know if it's a new vbulletin update or what - but this script seriously causes some problems in IE8 with smilies and formatting. Seems to work in Firefox still. But in IE8 you'll see "error on page" in the bottom left corner, and clicking on smilies does nothing - in fact, when you respond to threads, none of the toolbars work. It's almost like this script just disables the buttons.

    I've narrowed it down specifically to this:

    Code:
    <!-- YUI CSS for TabView -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="clientscript/yui/tabview/assets/tabview.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="clientscript/yui/tabview/assets/tabview-skin.css" />
    <!-- JavaScript Dependencies for Tabview: -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/utilities/utilities.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/element/element-beta-min.js"></script>
    <!-- Source file for TabView -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/tabview/tabview-min.js"></script>
    <!-- Source file for Dispatcher -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/tabview/dispatcher-min.js"></script>

    ah i forgot to mention one thing.. thats wrong with bobster65 instruction. instead of placing the javascript loading there.. you want to actually place it in adv_portal template right above your {vb:raw header}

    That will do two things for you, it should stop the conflict you are having with possibly another javascript based plugin in your forum, and number two it will conserve bandwidth dramatically by only loading the tab javascript files on your frontpage only, the method bobster gave would load it on every single forum page that has a header.

    Awesome - thanks! Looks like that did the trick.

    By the way - one minor suggestion in the blog tab file. As it is, it doesn't have a class assigned to the TR tag in the data output area. I changed it to the following so I have the table lines as shown in the tabsample1.php file.

    In tab_blog2.php, I changed line 94 from:

    Code:
    echo '<tr>
    To:

    Code:
    echo '<tr class="vba_module">
    Now I just need a random/latest photos block with thumbnails and image titles, and I'll be all set! I seriously suck at PHP. The old one for vb3 tabs doesn't work on vb4 so I lost that feature in the upgrade.

    Where's the demo at your site? Not new newsfeed, isn't it?

    sorry with the newest update of vb 4.0.3 and vbadvanced this no longer works with IE. you will need to wait for the original author to update the backend YUI script so its compatible with IE. thats why you don't see it on my site.
