    Default vBulletin 4.0.4 'postfoot' class issue

    The 4.0.4 release appears to have caused a problem with the 'postfoot' class (see attachment).

    The 'editpost', 'newreply', 'sendmessage' and 'printthread' roll-overs are misaligned and the last two have lost their roll-over effect.

    I'm having the exact same issue, does anyone know of a fix?

    There must be a way of editing the postbit.css, but it's beyond me. Anyone have any idea before I begin trial and error?

    I've been looking at it now and again since my first post. It looks to me as if there are a number of issues that need addressing. It might be that fixing one problem would sort out the rest but I have my doubts.

    Aside from the rollovers on 'sendmessage' and 'printthread' not working, the block in which they are contained is breaking out of its parent container. That's aside from the block of unwanted white space. (Check out my new attachment which shows the area enlarged.)

    There's a hard coded padding variable in postbit.css which if changed will drop the background colour (remove the white space) but it's a bit of dirty hack and I don't know if it'll impact elsewhere. You'll find the padding control immediately under...

    .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols, .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols {
    padding: 6px 0 4px;

    Increasing the bottom padding (4px) by something like 3 or 4 or more will remove the white space.

    I'll take another look at this shortly to see if I can find a proper fix. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

    Further to my post above, vBulletin appears to have made changes to some of the StyleVar settings that are affecting those roll-overs mentioned.

    The colour setting in the postbit_control_background StyleVar seems to be masking the roll-over effect. Removing the value completely will reveal the roll-over but it's almost impossible to see, even on a properly calibrated monitor.

    If you also edit the control_background StyleVar and set the Background Color (currently set @ #e9e9e9) to something a little darker, say #999999, the roll-over effect becomes more obvious.

    I think that should be more in keeping with how the roll-over effect looked prior to patch 4.0.4.

    What is still perplexing me a little is why the container for that area is out of alignment. If I can work it out I'll leave another post.

    Thank you for pointing this out. If you will replace the contents of your 'adv_portal_newsbits' template with the following code then it should take care of the issue.
    Code:
    <vb:if condition="!$mod_options['portal_news_legacy']">
    	<h2 class="blockrow">
    		<vb:if condition="$mod_options['portal_news_showicon']">{vb:raw vba_style.portal_blockbullet}</vb:if> {vb:raw news.prefix} <a href="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/{vb:link thread, {vb:raw news}}">{vb:raw news.title}</a>
    	</h2>
    </vb:if>
    <div class="<vb:if condition="$mod_options['portal_news_legacy']">blocksubhead<vb:else />blockrow</vb:if>">
    	<div<vb:if condition="$mod_options['portal_news_showrating'] AND $news['rating']"> class="vba_rating{vb:raw news.rating}"</vb:if>>
