Thread: Restore links from csv

    Default Restore links from csv

I made a mistake of backing up my links as a csv rather than sql from php myadmin and now i dont seem to be able to reimport them correctly.

I think it is to do with the fact that some of the description fields contain either a ; or a , or a :

so when i try to reimport the csv file it sees these as indications of termination of a field or line and the import doesnt work.

    Any ideas?

after my teething problem with the new version (thanks for the quick reply to the ticket brian) i now realise that the improt a list of links feature is gong to be no good for me.

when i try to import it comes back with an error to say i have not filled out the required fields. which of course i havnt because there is nowhere to fill them out here.

So im back to csv imports.
Anyone got any ideas on how i can do this.

I've just tested the import feature locally and it looks like there is a small bug that can occur when you have required custom fields. I've just applied the fix to the forum/includes/vba_links_functions_savelink.php file in the download package here though, so if you will download the files again and update that one on your server, that should take care of the issue.
