    Default Navbar disappears on displaying login screen when page is protected

    I have created various cmps pages that are restricted to members of specific usersgroups. All works fine, but when someone accesses the page without being logged in, on the displayed page (with login screen) the navbar is not shown. Any idea why this is happenning ?

    Regards,

    Taco

    Can you post a link to one of the pages where you're seeing this problem?

    Hi Brian,

    This is the vba page that requires authentication:
    http://www.dance.nl/cmps_index.php?pageid=cms

    Any other page that requires authentication works fine:
    http://www.dance.nl/usercp.php

    Weird, the navbar should still be shown there... Could you try disabling any other products/plugins that you have installed and see if you still have the same problem then?

    That's what I initially thought as well, so I have tried that already.
    Also switched back to the unmodified vB4 default style with no luck.

    This specific vBa page has access enabled to the Administrators group and some other (custom) groups.

    Already tried turning off and back on the navbar (in the style settings for this page), but no effect.

    I have vBa 4.0.1 installed.

    I am puzzled .... any way I can turn on some debugging to see why the menu bar template is not being included ?

    Brian, have you tried it yourself on a vanilla installation/test system?

    I've tested this locally but couldn't reproduce any issues like that. I'm not exactly sure what the problem might be, but if you would like to submit a support ticket via the Members' Area here I'll be glad to take a look at things for you.

    I am having the same problem

    Any page that has had the "Unregistered / Not Logged In" permissions removed doesn't show the navbar

    Weird... I took a look at your site since your last ticket was still open and I see it happening there, but I still can't reproduce the issue locally. You should be able to correct the problem by looking in your forum/includes/vba_cmps_include_top.php file for this line:
    PHP Code:
    print_no_permission();
    And adding this just Above it:
    PHP Code:
    $navbar render_navbar_template(construct_navbits($navbits));

    That indeed fixed my problem as well. Just make sure you implement this in the sourcecode, so the change does not get lost in a future update.
