    Default Newbie saying Hi

    Hi all,
    I'm new.
I have a forum using Vbulletin V 4.0.3. I set it up to find other people interested in the same sort of art as me.
I have some mebers, No one really posts but loads visit every day.
I look around other forums and see high post counts and the site monetized and in some cases being the forim is the admins actual occupation.

Hell, I am old, dumber than most but willing to learn.
So I dropped in here hoping that I can learn how to make my site more interesting to people and take it forwards as an enjoyable place where people want to post not just lurk.
    Regards
    Tony

Well, the idea and content is fine, that is an interesting subject but I would be making the forum more visually appealing.

    1) try adding the vBa CMPS >> http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.p...fo&productid=4 << (it's free!! ) and making that your landing page. That way you get latest threads/news etc and could have latest images of works shown (plus anything esle you want to have on the front page.

( List of sites using vBa CMPS http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.p...ks&productid=4 )

    2) the forum logo is still the default vBulletin, that needs to come off, you want your forum logo there not advertising for someone else.

    3) have a look around for a more attractive theme/skin, there are plenty of free offerings at vbulletin.org and a quick Google will find you more.

Take a look in the "How Do I?" section of the CMPS forum for more ideas about layout.

Hi Careycrew, thanks for the feedback, I will take the steps you suggest.

As to being nosey...if you mean my username, it has no significance hence my use :-)

I wondered if the upton part was a reference to your location in the UK.
