Default Creating custom styles for modules

I'm trying to figure out how I can get a custom look to my modules. I was looking at sites like this one.

    http://www.hardwareheaven.com/

Just trying to figure out how I can go about going custom like this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Every module has a setting called "Alternative Module Wrapper Template" where you can enter the name of a different template that will be wrapped around it's main content, so you can use that to customize things as much as you would like.
