Default How do increase edit boxes, sideways?

I like the up & down arrows which allows one to increase the size of text boxes, like this one I'm typing in, and the quick reply ones. But running 1280x1024 on a LCD monitor, I have a LOT of space on the left and right sides which I'd like the text boxes to expand into.

How do I do this?

That wouldn't have anything to do with the CMPS, so you'd probably be better off checking somewhere like vbulletin.org.
