Question Where is the homepage HTML code?

Greetings all, I am doing some redesign work for the owner of a vBulletin board-based site: http://www.cipherblackjack.com.

I've not worked with a vBulletin board before and all I'm trying to do here is update the HTML content of the homepage itself. The problem I'm having is I cannot locate where this content is stored in a vBulletin install.

I've worked with Zen Cart, another database-driven type of site, and I suspect the HTML code for the homepage content is not anywhere to be found in the main directory but may reside somewhere in the database.

Am I correct? Is there anywhere in the vBulletin Admin area where I could replace the existing HTML code?

Thanks, John

The copyright notice at the bottom of the script needs to be restored before asking for support.

Well, how do I do that? As I mentioned, I did not design this site, I'm only trying to determine where the HTML code is for the homepage content. I know nothing about vBulletin websites.

Go to the Style Manager in your admin cp, click the >> << button to expand the templates next to the style you want to edit, look for the vBa CMPS Templates group, and double-click to expand it. Then look for the template called 'adv_portal_footer' click on it, and then hit the "Revert" button. That *should* restore the copyright.

OK, I have found two templates with checkmarks in them. One shows an altered footer as you describe (adv_portal_footer), the other does not. Is there any way to tell what he put there before I revert? If he had any other content there (links, etc) can I preserve them while restoring the copyright? Is the copyright the only thing in that footer normally? I just don't want to erase any of my clients' site by accident. Thanks!

OK, I got it done. Have no idea why his other web designer removed it, but the copyright is back.

Thank you for restoring that.
All of the templates for the CMPS can be found in the same place in your Style Manager. The 'adv_portal' template is the main template for that page. The 'adv_portal_module_shell' template is what's wrapped around each module and contains the table with the title and content of the module. Then the rest of the templates there are for the individual modules.

Brian, I had one other quick question, it you'd be so kind. I put up the new content on the homepage (www.cipherblackjack.com), but the large image pushed the sidebar menus ("Free Registration", "Partners") on the right-hand side halfway down the page. Is there a setting to align that sidebar content to the top of the column? Thanks, John

Make sure the <td> tag for that column contains 'valign="top"' and that should fix the problem.
